Our method is a unique approach that helps readers build foreign language reading skill and vocabulary using authentic literature.
New translations are introduced gradually rather than all at once. In the early sections, only a few words appear in the target language. Over time, the balance shifts as more translated words are added, allowing readers to build comprehension step by step.
Each translation follows a structured linguistic process:
High-frequency words first: Words that occur most often in the text are translated earliest, giving readers repeated exposure and reinforcement.
Low-frequency words deferred: Rare or context-specific terms are generally left untranslated so that readers can focus on vocabulary that provides the greatest benefit.
Smooth progression: The density of new translations increases at a measured pace, supporting learning without interrupting the reading experience.
AI and human collaboration: Translations are produced using advanced AI language models and refined by humans to ensure accuracy and consistency.

How to use our books
Each NoveLang edition is designed for readers who are just beginning to learn a new language. You don’t need any prior knowledge — the story itself will teach you gradually through context, repetition, and immersion.
At first, you’ll read mostly in English, with just a few words in the target language appearing here and there. These foreign words are printed in bold italics so you can spot them easily. The first time a new word appears, you’ll also see its English meaning.
The goal is not to stop and analyze each sentence, but to keep reading, letting your understanding grow through familiarity and rhythm.
If you don’t understand a word right away, keep going. The surrounding text will often give you all the clues you need, and repeated exposure will make the meaning clear before long.
You’ll be surprised how quickly the foreign words begin to feel familiar.
As you move deeper into the story, the number of translated words will slowly increase. This is intentional: each section introduces a little more of the new language while maintaining an easy, natural flow.
By the end, you’ll be reading substantial portions in the target language with confidence and without feeling overwhelmed.
